Food Fit for your Young Family Member

If you’re a mom with a toddler, you know that mealtime can often be a slightly tricky, maybe messy, time of day. Their busy little bodies are constantly moving to and fro, doing their best to break free while you sit patiently, trying to feed them. Thankfully, toddlers don’t need a tremendous amount of food to fuel up, because their stomachs are so, so small.

This changes tremendously as they grow, and you need to know how much your young one needs to eat to stay active and busy. But, how do you know how much you’re supposed to feed them? Well, each day, a toddler needs 40 calories for every inch of height. This means that a knee-high 2-year-old (19 inches tall) would need roughly, 760 calories per day.

Below is an example of the average daily meal for a toddler between the ages of 1 and 3:

  • One ounce of meat, or 2 to 3 tablespoons of beans
  • One to 2 tablespoons of vegetables
  • One to 2 tablespoons of fruit
  • One-quarter slice of bread with Blue Band spread

All of the above is for you to use as you choose and when you wish, because incorporating at least one of the points mentioned into you’re your family member’s diet can do only do good things for their little bodies.
